Buffalo’s own Pearl Street Grill & Brewery is gorgeous. The building dates back to 1841 and the wood interior (along with the really cool looking fan system) is amazing for just the eye candy alone. The building has a New Orleans style outdoor patio that circles around the entire building (and all 3 floors) which in the summer time can be a great view of the city or lake.
The beers they brew on site are generally pretty good, my favorite by far is the Wild Ox Wheat (as seen above) but they have some great seasonal brews as well. However, their tour de force food wise (for the unhealthy eaters out there) has to be their Loaded Fries. Not only are the fries steak cut, but the combination of cheese, sour cream, bacon and scallions is fantastic. I will gladly say that this place has the greatest cheese fries I have ever eaten.
After the Sabres season is over (don’t go on game night, its insane), I would recommend you stop by for a beer or some food. The menu is pretty good, with a good amount of options from pasta and sandwiches. The price isn’t horrible, and you can get beers that come in huge towers or an old fashioned growler. Just be prepared to wait if your going during the dinner hours or if you are there 1 hour before and after a Sabres game.
