Food Porn: Ricotta’s Pizza

index_r1_c1

Since I can remember, Ricotta’s Country Store in Orchard Park has been THE place to get pizza for my family.  Being only 1/2 a mile down the street from my house and my Dad working there for a year might have something to do with it, but the pizza has really been good.

Since working in Allentown I have started enjoying New York Style pizza more, there is a great place on Allen that has gotten me hooked on thin pizza (and Jamaican Beef Patties).  But we recently got a flier staying Ricotta’s was serving Marinara Pizza for a limited time for only 6.99 for a 17” large.  I love basil, tomato and fresh mozzerella.  So put those on a traditional style pizza crust and I am hooked.

I love this traditional “Italian” style of pizza, and Ricotta’s execution was flawless.  The pizza was delicious and after eating 3 slices I didn’t feel grossly full.  I also loved how it didn’t leave a layer of grease on my plate.  For those of you in the Southtowns area, I would recommend you try this out while it is still 6.99.  Even if you hate it, it was 7 bucks for a large pizza so what do you have to lose.

UPDATE: 10/11/2010 – They still are serving this Marinara Pizza and most of the time it’s still delicious, I recommend getting it well done otherwise it can be too sloppy.
