Food Porn: The Boston Hotel

Before a tragic fire (that luckily ended with no injuries) this winter destroyed the following restaurant.  Alli and I had visited Boston, NY’s staple The Boston Hotel several times.  They have some great dining deals, in particular Monday’s were amazing for beer and lobster dantie/clam specials.  For those in the greater Buffalo area, you might have seen their advertisement in the ‘clipper magazine’ with their Lobster Tail & Steak Dinner for 20 dollar deals.

Alli and I first went in September 2008, t was definitely a good trip, we ate like kings and for only 40 dollars.  The inside however, left a little more to be desired, but the food was pretty damn good.

I ended up having that lobster and steak deal, which came with some french fries and green beans (honestly, what restaurant gives you green beans with meals now in days?).  The lobster was good, not over cooked but too small as always.  Alli went for the pound of crab legs, with fries and gravy and yes.. green beans.

As of February of 2009, there are plans for rebuilding but it seems like that it will take awhile.  I am hoping that this summer The Boston Hotel can be part of our plans but there’s no hope.  For those who want to get a good meal in Boston, NY the family that owned the Boston Hotel also own the Italian Restaurant across the street, Amore.

Alli’s side note: Not only was this one of the best meals I’ve eaten in a long time.  They pre-opened my crab legs for me!  For anyone who enjoys a good crab leg, you can understand the awesome-ness that was provided.

I really love food and I love living in the city of Buffalo. I'm here to talk about both of those things.
