In case there are any “readers” out there that don’t know me personally, I recently got a new job working in downtown Buffalo. I finally have a “grown up job” working Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. The best part about the job so far is the area I work in (Allentown) is filled with awesome culture, bars, and most importantly good and unique restaurants.
When I walked down Allen, I decided I wanted to try something to eat that wasn’t Jim’s Steakout (I still love you forever), and I happened to see this place, Cafe 59. This was my first meal that I had there in October of 2008:

The restaurant from the outside is not very “appealing”. However that is usually a good sign that the food is awesome, I generally enjoy a place that’s run down far more often then a place that looks gorgeous.
The scene is a “very liberal college hipster” atmosphere, free wifi to customers along with a pay-per-minute Internet cafe. The sandwich I had was the:
Turkey with honey mustard, tomato, red onion, bacon and field greens.. $6.57
It was awesome. With a side salad, it was a healthy and filling meal. Highly recommended if your in the Allen/Delaware area. They also serve coffee and other drinks, however I didn’t try any of those.
Location:
- 59 Allen St. Buffalo, NY 14202.
