A couple of months ago, I went to Gabriel’s Gate with some co-workers for our routine Friday lunch. On the list of specials for the day was a “Beer Battered Chicken Sandwich”. I had never heard such a thing, and when I ordered it everyone I was with made fun of me. But then they delivered me the plate, and holy shit.
Since then it became like a legend around the office, they never served it again. We would even call in every Friday seeing if by chance they were serving it. We waited and waited and they never had it again, until a couple weeks ago. We went on our weekly Friday Lunch trip and we decided not to call, hopeful that our luck would change and they would have it. Now, I don’t understand why this can’t be a regular item on the menu, its delicious and unique. Something that a restaurant would love to have on it’s menu.
Not only is this thing huge, but its fried to perfection and somehow it makes me enjoy American Cheese! Today we lucked out and they had the sandwich again. So I finally got a picture of it, for awhile it was the Big Foot of Food Porns. It was just as delicious as I remembered. So if you’re going to stop by the Gabriel’s Gate (located on Allen, right off of Delaware) then get this. If they don’t have it, get their Chicken Wings. They are also phenomenal.
