Last night I got a wonderful text message from a old co-worker, Dougy Fresh (real last name too long to post). He told me he had read every post on the website and said he was an aspiring chef himself.
Back at the old Circuit City (RIP), Dougy would talk up his Chicken Wing Soup and how it rivaled Danny’s famous soup. So I decided to post his world famous recipe.
So guys, if you want to make a tasty soup to impress the ladies that isn’t that hard. Here you go:
1 small onion, diced
2 stalks of celery, diced
1/4 cup (4 tbs) butter or margarine
1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup of milk
14 oz. can chicken broth
2 cups of cooked, diced chicken (I shred rather than dice, and use 3 breasts. If doubling recipe I use 5 chicken breasts)
4 oz. Velveeta cheese
1/4-1/2 cup of Frank’s hot sauce (I use a bit more cause I like it hot)
1/4 cup sour cream
Bleu cheese crumbles (to your liking)
Cook onion and celery in butter until tender, stir in flour. SLOWLY whisk in milk and chicken broth. Add chicken. Add Velveeta and continue to stir until melted. Add hot sauce, sour cream and sprinkle in desired amount of bleu cheese. Cook on low heat, continuously stirring until heated through and bleu cheese melts.
**To cook the chicken I boil it and then marinate with Frank’s hot sauce
***I double this recipe, since I eat it for leftovers till the pot is gone
Thank you to Dougy Fresh and his recipe, we hope to post more cool food stuff as it comes along.
