Food Porn: Buffalo Street Grill

I’ve driven by Buffalo Street Grill plenty of times…  Just passing by I always assumed that it was another bar/restaurant…some place that had wings, fingers, and typical pub style foods.  I was way off.  This place actually had a really nice menu and great food.

Using one of the coupons that we bought (a $10 certificate that cost us 80 cents), Alli and I decided to finally try it out.  The place was smaller then I thought; the dining room had maybe 7 tables and the bar was packed.  The service was a little shabby.  The waitress was a bit rude and forgot about us, however, the quality of food made up for it.

I started with a very affordable and very good cup of Roasted Red Pepper Bisque (Sweet red pepper puree with a hint of cream … $2)

For an appetizer we had Bocconcini Bites ($5.50), which are basically cubes of fried mozzarella.  The bites were really good, crunchy and melting on the inside but the choice of ketchup ‘drizzle’ on the plate was weird.

Alli decided to go with something a bit different and ordered the Gorgonzola Chicken (sauteed and topped with gorgonzola cream, red peppers + sun dried tomatoes…$14).  She loved it…even the rice that came with it.  Normally rice is not something she would order (the waitress did not give her a choice in sides) but it turned out to be really good.

I decided to go for something that was safe and I ordered myself the Turkey Ciabatta (Boars Head turkey, provolone, banana peppers, field greens and basil mayo on ciabatta ….$7.50).  The sandwich was great, it was almost like a melt and the banana peppers gave it an awesome crunch.

The overall verdict; awesome food and building.  The service was lack luster, but the prices were average and worth a visit. Or two.

I really love food and I love living in the city of Buffalo. I'm here to talk about both of those things.
