In Orchard Park there used to be a great little coffee shop in the village called E.T. (Exquisite Taste) that was a local hang out for high school-er’s to have coffee/desserts/and enjoy open mics. Unfortunately the location closed down, but before that happened they managed to open a second location in East Aurora called just simply Taste. Located right next door to one of my new favorite restaurants (Tantalus), Taste is located right off Main St in the village of East Aurora.
They have your typical selection of flavored coffee’s and pies, cookies and other desserts (including S’Mores for two or four that you make right at your table, think fondue style). They also serve various sandwiches but I’ve never tried them.
Tuesday evening Alli and I went there for a late night trip, she got herself some hot chocolate (a picture of a cup with whip cream really isn’t worth it) and I got myself some tea. Perhaps the coolest part of ordering from Taste is that they don’t give you a boring old order number, they give you a Hollywood actor/actress. Ours was the incredibly talented Nicholas Cage.
For actual food, we split a slice of M & M Mudslide Pie, which basically was a slice of pie that had rich chocolate base, crushed m&M’s, and the plate was garnished with some vanilla pudding and powdered sugar.
If you’re in the southtowns area, I recommend stopping here instead of the Starbucks that is down the street. The place is very pretty, just like the village (when not being ripped apart) that it resides in. They often has musicians playing and have chess and free wifi available. I can’t talk on behalf of their food menu, but for coffee & desserts its full of win.
