With the signs of summer coming to Buffalo, it was inevitable that I was going to do an ice cream related Food Porn. Nick Charlap’s is a wonderful ice cream place that I’ve grown up with. Only a couple miles up the road from my house, located in Boston (NY), it was, and still is, one of the best ice cream places around the southtowns. There was a period where they stopped making their own and switched to Perry’s, but they’ve gotten back to their old ways and now serve their famous Charlaps (homemade) ice cream.
I had a hot fudge brownie sundae (pretty self explanatory) for 3.99, and, of course, it was delicious. I had soft serve with my sundae but they have a wonderfully extensive selection of hard ice cream flavors that will suit everyone’s taste. And it’s all homemade. If you’re in the Boston, NY area (also make sure to try George’s and the Boston Hotel if you are) stop by Charlap’s for some good ice cream. They also have a second smaller location in the town of Hamburg not to far down from the Erie County Fairgrounds.
