the pizza from Lanova’s is ok to say the most and everytime I’ve ordered from there and got 20 wings I ended up with 19! It’s not like once or twice, I mean over ten times. I feel like that and there overpriced food is how they make money though, so remeber if you order 5 fingers you most likely will get 4 and if you order 10 wings you will get 9… gotta keep the doors open my sneaking one past everyone?!?!

that or every single person there is so dumb and stoned (more likely) that they can’t count (gotta LOVE Buffalo school systems)

La Nova is by far my fav, but I will agree Just Pizza is awesome with the amount of toppings they put. Their sauce is really good too.

Just Pizza has ‘always’ let me down. I started with the one on Main St. by UB many years ago and I still remember it to this day that the pizza was cut in awkward angles, it was dry, and the amount of pizza in the large size box filled about half the space… that’s never happened before from anywhere when I got a large. It’s like they put a small pizza in a large box. The one on Niagara Falls Blvd. tends to overcook and burn it… similar to the John’s down the street from it. I currently have Just Pizza ranked at #37 on my pizzeria list. I haven’t tried the one on Elmwood though, but I’m comfortable with my La Nova, Bocce, Franco’s, di Paulo’s, The Fatman, now Zetti’s, and even Ying’s pizza.

Does anyone know if the 2-4-1 closed down on Elmwood/Forest? (Never cared for it though)

FP,

I always love the bubbles in the pizza but I also love Just Pizza. The 10 times or so I’ve had it, the toppings were abundant (or “abondonza”, as the Celeste ads used to say) and the crust, et al, was succulent. Food is very subjective but “the help” at your corner pizzeria also help objectify the mound of dough, sauce and cheese, we call pizza into a very random affair. In other words, consistency can suck. Maybe I “Just” got lucky…?

casi-di-pizza is an alternative just down the street. my gf actually had pizza from there tonight… said it was greasy and she liked the crust. just pizza is horrible… they always overcook it and burn it and it is dry… at least for the few times i’ve had pizza there… including the new one on nf blvd. there used to be an avenue pizza on millersport/flint… the kind of pizza that would have air bubbles in the dough if you know what i mean… but the subs were amazing there

I’ve eaten there about 50 times throught the past 10 years (or since they opened). All I can say is that I never got food poisoning. Yes, that place is a trip and is a pretty trashy setting but, that said, I do dig the pizza quite a bit (usually) and the Jamaican patties. Before Zetti’s opened, they were the best NYC style slice around!

Wow, thats freaky. I’ve eaten there probably 10+ times since I started working off Allen in September and never had an issue. But hopefully thats not something recent, but at the same time judging from how it looks on the inside I’m not shocked.

DON’T go to NY Pizza on Allen. 3 of my friends and I all got food poisoning there a couple of weeks ago. When one of our friends posted something on craigslist about it, he got endless replies from other people who’d got food poisoning from NY Pizza too. Food poisoning from pizza and subs? They must be DIRTY.
