Buffalo Foodies: Trazz

Like DJ Noodles, if you are a fan of the local Hip Hop scene you are probably very familiar with Hip Hop artist Trazz.  If you aren’t into our local scene (again, you SHOULD be) then you will definitely know Trazz by name soon.  Just search his name on YouTube and you will find various collaborations with artists like Pitbul, Akon, and Drake.  He’s currently working on his debut album and is looking for potential labels.  We caught up with Trazz and he was generous enough to answer some questions for us….

Where is your favorite place to eat in Buffalo?

Trazz: A couple places you can catch me at are Panos, the greek salads there are the truth.  Gigi’s is an ol skool hood spot with some of the best soul food in town and Destini’s Pizzeria, the downtown special is crazy.

Honestly, when your talking about food, Buffalo has so many spots that are great. Whenever I’m on the road for a while these are the places and foods that I crave that you can only find upstate…..Shouts to Louie’s, Mighty Taco, Chicken Finger subs, Loganberry, Beef On Weck, and Chef Ernest because he can make just about anything.

What kind of food/cuisine did you grow up on?

Trazz: Ummm….My favorite as a kid was the spot in the hood called Chat N Chew’s.  They were known for their steak subs. They had this sandwich called a “Chop Burger” which was the same as a steak sub but with hamburger meat.  Everyone ordered those because they were cheaper than the actual steak subs, but tasted just as good. Unfortunately the spot isn’t open any more.

If you had a friend from out of town, Where would u show them to eat to get an idea of “Buffalo food”?

Trazz: Of course, I would take them to the Anchor Bar for the Buffalo Wings. Then I would take them to La Nova for the Pizza (Shouts to my homie Joey Tadaro) and then I would get a little classy with it and we’d visit the Buffalo Chop House (The ladies love it there!).

Buffalo Eats would like to thank Trazz for taking time out of his busy schedule to answer a few foodie questions for us.  We wouldn’t have been able to do this without the help (AGAIN) of Buffalo Eats friend Lisa B….so thank you Lisa!  Check out Trazz’s newest single “All They Wanna Talk About” featuring Drake! and follow Trazz on twitter to keep up to date on all his releases & appearances!  And check out an awesome interview with clothing retailer Jimmy Jazz here!
