I normally don’t post random news stories but I saw this on one of my favorite blogs today. The baby carrots industry (about 50 national carrot growers) are trying to spice things up and steal some of the sales from $18 billion snack food industry. Collectively they have dropped $25 million into this new campaign by paying popular marketing firm Cripsin Porter + Bogusky to come up with this new “rebranding”. They will be rolling out some new packaging that evoke that snack food “vibe”, as you can see above the one bag looks very similar to Doritos.
Obviously the benefits to this marketing has the potential to be fantastic. With the rates of diabetes skyrocketing with the youth of our nation, getting a child to put down the Cheetos and pick up baby carrots can only be a good thing. If you want to learn more about their new marketing campaign and read the rest of the story, check it out at USA Today.
