This might be old news to some people but Food Network has invited Buffalo’s own Zillycakes to audition for the 9th season of Cake Challenge. Located in the Elmwood village, we had a chance to visit Zillycakes last summer and tried out their cupcake bar which were pretty delicious. Alli and I also just had the privilege of meeting owner Zilly Rosen recently when we went for a cake tasting for our upcoming wedding (it was amazing). With how great of an experience we had at their shop, I definitely am rooting for them to make the show. This wouldn’t be the first time that Zillycakes would find themselves in the national spotlight, in February of 2009 Zilly and her cupcake portraits of Barrack Obama and Abraham Lincoln were on display at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
