Last weekend the fine folks at Nickel City Chef did something different and held a Pastry Challenge between Ellen Gedra (of Bistro Europa) and Paul Piorkowski (of Black & Blue). Like other challenges, the competing chefs had to incorporate a special local ingredient. They were provided homemade Brown Sugar from Five Points Bakery, a fantastic bakery in the West Side thats run by the husband and wife team of Kevin and Melissa Gardner.
