Lisa Eats: Orangic 3 Cafe

Note from Donnie: In case you didn’t notice yesterday, we’ve added a new voice to Buffalo Eats’s staff and we are very excited.  Lisa Stachura is currently a student at Canisius College and will be writing a bunch of different articles that range from restaurant reviews to features about food issues/trends on a local and national level.  Since she wrote this article without any pictures (food porn wouldn’t really be porn without the pics I guess) we’ll be calling this “Lisa Eats” however read on about this new addition to the Elmwood strip.  We are all looking forward to seeing what Lisa writes next.

What runs through your mind when you think of ‘going green’? Recycling paper, plastics, cans and so on? But did you know you can go green by changing your diet? Choosing to switch to organic food not only helps the earth but also benefits your body.

While growing in popularity, turning to organic food gives one a limited selection of eateries around Western New York. However, after experiencing success on Main Street in Snyder, O3 Café has opened a new restaurant on Elmwood.

Their motto, “organic by design, delicious by choice,” shows that switching to organic doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy your food. O3 serves wraps, salads and Paninis with organic fruit or juice smoothies, tea and coffee. Even though it is on the expensive side, this café is perfect for those who would like to eat a bit healthier.

Most food of this nature has an acquired taste and many people cringe a little when they hear the word “organic.” However, O3′s food hides the “organic” taste and brings out a delicious sensation in their meals.

Some recommended items are the Baja Chicken Wrap and the Banana Pepper Wrap. Most menu items have options for what you can put in your food. For example, a Banana Pepper Wrap can come with spinach, banana peppers and a choice of provolone or goat cheese.

The atmosphere is friendly and inviting in this local café due to the number of regular customers and its great staff. The modern, Zen-like decor makes customers feel comfortable immediately upon walking into the café.

O3 is one of the few fully organic restaurants in WNY that offers a wide variety of food and drinks. From sandwiches to salads, everything is kept organic for a healthy meal. You can visit their website for a full menu.

I enjoyed Lisa’s review of Organic 3 Cafe. And we enjoyed eating at O3 as well. We particularly enjoyed their design and decor choices of crisp pewter tones and textures and the use of jade plants as table floral displays. Good luck Lisa in your future writing endeavors.
P.S. The title threw me off for a second here, “Orangic 3 Cafe” :)
