A couple weeks ago we had Kelvis on our site, a local model and chef who I first found out about thanks to Scarlet Noir Photograhic. My friend Kristy Weiss (Scarlet) has been a wedding photographer for almost a decade but recently she decided to spice up her portfolio and offer a service to ladies who wanted to feel sexy. Scarlet Noir is a project for not just those who aspire to become Maxim models, Kristy intended to shoot anyone who was interested in bringing out their risque side.
Since starting Scarlet Noir she’s developed a pretty good following with her facebook page and has entered and won contests for her photos. Check out her galleries to see her work with other models and you’ll notice that her photographs have that retro/pin up style.
I know Kristy likes a good bite to eat and a good bar to hang out in, so I decided to ask her about her favorites. Here’s what she had to say….
Right now, where are your favorite places to eat in Western New York?
Kristy: I love Coles for everything. Atmosphere, food, and they have Deadguy, my favorite beer! My favorite dish….hmmm… I know its corny but the chicken quesadilla because it has black beans and I LOVE black beans!!! Or the good old fashion Cheeseburger with Bacon. Love me some bacon! The Bar-Bill Tavern is also one of my favorite places ’cause its “Buffalo” and they have some GOOD wings!
Where do you like to grab a drink and relax with friends?
Kristy: I don’t have many friends (haha), but I love Russell’s Lounge. The people at the bar are awesome and the atmosphere there is fun. Or the good old chocolate bar for 1 martini, I really don’t drink that much.
What are some food memories you have from your childhood?
Kristy: My grandfather is a Chef so going to his house every Sunday; the man is 73 and when he is feeling up to it he still has Sunday dinner. I’m a horrible granddaughter and I haven’t been there in years on a Sunday but DAMN that man can cook!
What do you wish Buffalo had more of (food wise)?
Kristy: More drive-thru decisions (that aren’t crappy fast food chains). That seems to be a huge problem with us when were busy and don’t have time to cook.
