Last month Alli, Tom and I took a trip to Lockport to record a podcast with Jason and Erik from Lake Effect Ice Cream in their actual shop. This was a couple weeks before they opened their doors for the summer season and we walked in just as they were making and packaging some Peanut Butter Epiphany. After getting a tour of the place we sat down to talk about the shop, how flavors came to be, what to expect in the future of Lake Effect and much more.
We have to say thank you to Jason and Erik for finding some time in their crazy busy schedule to have us come out to their shop and give us over an hour of their time. Not only is their product fantastic, but they are honestly some of the nicest guys we’ve ever met. We highly recommend the drive out to Lockport to try one of their sundaes, they are ridiculously delicious (if you can’t make the drive, pick up a pint at Tops, the Lexington Co-op or Premier Gourmet).
p.s. Jason and Erik were kind enough to donate a few gift certificates for us to include in our 1st Annual Buffalo Eats Giveaway. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check it out here.
Just a reminder, if you like our network of locally produced podcasts (Audio Buffalo), please support those who are supporting us: Noco.com (free Sabre Bucks!), Lifetime Service (broke your iPhone?) and Consumers Beverages (like beer?)
