A couple days ago BeerBaconBoobs organizer Jake Briggs sent me some information about an exciting new event in Williamsville that will be raising money for a good cause (the boobs part) while serving two of my favorite things (bacon and beer). Here’s the press release that was sent to me….
BUFFALO, NY- Engineered Events LLC, a Buffalo-based event planning organization, is producing the region’s first annual beer and bacon tasting event, BeerBaconBoobs, to support the Breast Cancer Network of Western New York, Inc. The event will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm in Island Park located at 5565 Main Street, Williamsville, NY 14221.
“My company’s goal is to raise over $5,000 for the Breast Cancer Network of Western New York,” said Jake Briggs, President of Engineered Events LLC. “This is the first beer and bacon tasting event in Buffalo, and it will be a great platform to raise money and awareness about the wonderful work that the Breast Cancer Network of Western New York does within our community. All of the donations made to the Breast Cancer Network of Western New York stay in Western New York,” Briggs added.
Guests may purchase tickets online before the event for $30 or at the door for $35. Tickets include 20 tastings of craft beer and a souvenir beer tasting glass. Patrons may also purchase “Bacon Bucks” to sample bacon creations by local restaurants and vendors. Company sponsorship dollars, individual private donations and proceeds from the purchase of souvenir wristbands will benefit the Breast Cancer Network of Western New York, Inc.
The Breast Cancer Network of Western New York, Inc. is the largest breast cancer organization in the region. It is a 100% volunteer-based organization that offers education, support and advocacy for breast cancer survivors. “We offer free services and programs such as tai-chi classes, yoga classes, resistance training, Zumba classes, healthy cooking classes, jewelry making and much more,” said Marcia Heaney, President of the Breast Cancer Network of Western New York, Inc.
The Breast Cancer Network of Western New York, Inc. will have an information table at BeerBaconBoobs with breast cancer awareness resources. BeerBaconBoobs will kick off the Breast Cancer Network of Western New York’s “Quality of Life” events in September.
