This past Sunday afternoon, Alli and I had an amazing meal. I can’t tell you where we ate, who was cooking the food (I can say they are incredibly talented chefs) or who we even ate with. It was the second dinner for Omakase, Buffalo’s underground supper club, and the title of the dinner was “Provenance“. The menu consisted of ingredients that were all sourced from local farms and included amazing charcuterie, a slow roasted whole hog, buttermilk fried chicken (the best I’ve ever had), sweet potato biscuits, collared greens, honey hush corn bread, coleslaw and corn on the cob. We drank some watermelon moonshine, a special Flying Bison beer and even some post dinner bourbon.
If you’d like to see more pictures from the dinner, check out our Facebook gallery. If you’d like to have a chance to attend one of these dinners, fill out a form on their website here. If you want to check out pictures from the first Omakase event, “Propagation,” you can check them out here.
