Last week the second annual TEDx Buffalo took place at the Montante Center at Canisius College. 10 speakers with varying backgrounds came together to spread ideas and inspire others. The theme of this event was “The World in Our Backyard”. One of those speakers was our friend Chef James Roberts of Park Country Club; James has also been featured on this site as a Buffalo Foodie and a podcast guest on Episode 18.
In addition to being an excellent chef and all around great guy, he’s also an inspiring teacher and mentor (something we talked about on the podcast). If you’ve ever spent time around James, it’s hard not to be motivated to be the best you can be. At TedxBuffalo he talked about his philosophy on mentorship, which he implements with his staff at Park Country Club on a daily basis.
The following video below was shown during his talk and features James training his cooks in the kitchen and taking them on a tour of Oles Family Farm and T-Meadow Farm. The video was put together by the very talented Nate Peracciny and is well worth a viewing. I highly suggest you follow James on twitter @jdrcec, check out Nate’s other video work and watch the other 9 speakers (and performers) from TEDx Buffalo.
