Definitely try the BBQ wings at Metzger's Pub in West Seneca. They are known for their Beef on Weck (which I've never tried before) but they have a delicious, thick bbq sauce they coat the chicken wings in then throw them back on the grill to char them. Which I prefer over the thin, ketchup wings at Duff's and Anchor Bar.

I've ordered from LT's a few times and always got the same thing - their chicken finger pizza. I remember it being very tasty.

Me and my husband moved to Hamburg a few months ago and have been looking for a good pizza place and tried Ninos off your suggestion in this post (the location in the village). We weren't disappointed! Very good pizza and amazing wings. I think we've found our go to pizza place now.

Fetta di Cielo has great steak hogies... however the guy is an asshole. Imperial delivers into West Seneca, I'm not sure where your Mom lives but they go deep. South Buffalo is also getting a Brick Oven/Italian Deli courtesy for Charlie Goodspeed (Dino's predecessor at Charlie O'Brian's), it'll be at the corner of Abbott and Narragansett where Reilly's used to be.

I guess. I think I gave it a pretty negative review and mentioned the only bright spots being portion sizes and being mad cheap. Definitely not recommending the restaurant, just explaining why someone would maybe want to consider it in very specific cases (location)

Well I work near UB South so my lunch experiences with the places in that area are limited but I'd suggest:

Amherst Pizza & Ale - their pizza is more midwest style, which growing up in Iowa, I love. Lots of toppings. I also find their fish fry to be excellent but they are so busy on Friday nights that parking is impossible in the plaza and by the time you get it home the batter is no longer crisp. I wish they'd open a second location or move to a bigger spot.

Koi Sushi - they just changed to an all u can eat format, $15 for lunch, a bit pricy for an everyday lunch but for sushi it's a deal and I think their sushi is pretty tasty (I don't do the raw stuff, but my husband does and he says it is good too).

Sushi Time - take out style sushi, not as good as Koi, but not bad either

Rocky's Indian- they have a lunch buffet

John & Mary's - they have some cheap lunch specials - I enjoy their Friday fish fry and the other food isn't bad either

Crow's Nest (Dodge & Campbell) - dive bar but they do have some good food

Bravo Pizza & Grill (Sweet Home, north of N French) - they are a hidden gem when it comes to Italian IMHO. You can go there on Friday or Saturday night and eat in without a wait and you get your money's worth and more. They do a swift take out business. They have slices, etc. also.

Santora's (Millersport & Flint Rd) - they have a lunch buffet that sounds good. We are enjoying their new eat in area.

Victoria - I have some fond memories of Picasso's when I was growing up, my cousin lived down the street and my aunt was a waitress there. Their fried dough was always great. I definitely need to go back.

A place I used to work at ordered from LTs almost every day, I would say our orders were wrong nearly 30%-40% of the time.

We tried ordering from Fetta di Cielo's all the time but they would answer the phone when they felt like it.

My favorite pizza place in West Seneca (anywhere, actually) is Picasso's. You should definitely try it, the pizza and subs are fantastic. I have to get pizza there any time I come home from college (and I'm craving it like crazy right now. Oy).

I'm fairly certain that Rick Schmidt owns both locations and splits his time between the two. Their pizza sub is awesome, if you're into the gooey, cheesy-saucy mess kind of pizza sub -- and it's usually my go-to. Haven't tried enough else to get a good feel for the restaurant. Thanks for the review, Donnie!

Just read your review and had to laugh. We dropped in there when we first moved to the neighboorhood thinking the same thing. An older persons place to get a fish fry...We immediately felt underdressed and were going to leave but the staff was so welcoming and so wonderful...(we also got the complimentary soup and lemon cello] Food was delicious and much to my husbands amusement I discovered the glasses of wine were very generous. It's definately a treat for us to go but the food atmosphere and staff and owners are just amazing

Julie, the co-owner you talked to, is actually super nice, and it seems like she's equally chatty with everyone. The prices -- you're right -- I'd eat there more frequently if I knew it'd only cost me $10 instead of $20. Her homemade slices of red velvet cake are awesome, but a slice runs for $5.95. A slice!

Get the Jamaican ginger beer next time! It's real potent but clears out your sinuses and has a pleasant buzz to it.

My BF grew up right around the block, and he still lives within a mile of Lone Star. We run there fairly frequently to grab some quesadillas. I guess we're sorta-regulars. I've never been particularly impressed by Lone Star, but it's cheap/convenient/consistent/comfortable.

BUT just hearing that the owner is harassing you makes me NEVER want to go back. If the owner was truly serious about bettering his image, he should take your criticism to heart and use it to enhance his establishment. It's not like you ripped the place apart. I thought the review was honest and consistent with my own personal experiences.

I am going to get my grub elsewhere from this point. There's a Mighty Taco not too far away that will get my pseudo-Mexican food money.

It's my understanding that the owner of this establishment has been contacting the author at his place of employment and screaming at him, threatening some sort of lawsuit.

Maybe the proprietor of this hole in the wall should spend more time concentrating on serving consistently good food in a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and less time bullying restaurant opinion writers who factually and accurately recount an actual experience they had in his establishment.

Off the list.

Had my first round of Cantina tonight and I went loco. I am very excited after the first taste. I can not wait to sit in that dining room. I thought that the food was A+++. Talking to the lady at the counter, I hear that on Sunday there will be special food. Apparently they have a whole outdoor smoker. I can not wait for the Sunday full Hog meals.

I don't think I've ever posted on a blog before but the pictures of that pizza got my mouth watering.
Bocce's (original) is by far and away the best pizza in the Buffalo area.
Back in the day.....we used to go to the Bailey Ave location and order a large and sit around and eat it in the parking lot.
I particularly love their sauce. The crust has always been as you described, "airy yet crisp"
I always loved it when there was just a hint of burnt crust. Which seemed to be the norm rather than the exception.
They also used to have a location on Clinton with bars on the windows and doors. We used to go there for lunch when I worked downtown. The guys behind the counter had guns on their hips.
The Bailey Ave location is a good 20 minutes from my office. I'm going there for lunch today.........
