Burger Guide

While we haven’t featured a lot of burgers on Buffalo Eats, we certainly are huge fans of a good burger.  I figure that a lot of our readers are probably big fans as well and maybe you are looking for a new spot to grab one.  So using some of our own knowledge, some recommendations from people who know about a good burger, and the internets we are going to make a list of “Can’t Miss Burger Joints”.  Of course with the thousands of restaurants in Buffalo, there are many other places were you can get a tasty burger.  However, we stand by these places and believe they stand out above the rest.

• GROVER’S BAR & GRILL
• Location: 9160 Transit Road, East Amherst, NY 14051

• Official Website: Grover’s does not have a website.
• Hours: Monday through Saturday, open for Lunch and Dinner.
• Buffalo Eats Notes: We knew about this local gem before Guy Fieri visited but unfortunately we never made a trip there until after the episode aired.  But it’s clear why he went there, Grovers burgers are gigantic, delicious and well priced.  For under 8 dollars we ordered their notorious Bruiser which is a 12 oz burger topped generously with onions and blue cheese.  They only take cash and the closest ATM is a drive away, so make sure you have cash and prepare for a wait.  Since the episode they’ve been slammed with new customers.   So when you get there put your name on the chalk board and grab a beer and wait, it will be well worth it. • Buffalo Eats Notes:While we haven’t eaten at Vizzi’s, everything that I’ve read on both Buffalo Rising and Buffalo Spree have raved about how great their burgers are.  Also you can just look at their location and assume that it looks like the kind of place that serves a great burger.  They grill their 1/2 burgers and do it right, serving about 5 different types of burgers all for under $8 (that price includes this place is on our shortlist of restaurants we need to try in the near future.

• Hours: Open Monday – Sunday, Restaurant Open until 11pm, Bar open until 4 am on most nights.
• Buffalo Eats Notes: I’ve always thought Cole’s has had really good bar food but on a recent trip I noticed they had Kobe Beef Burgers.  A member of our group ordered one and absolutely loved it.  Similar to Sterling Place, they have a fantastic beer selection which always is a great compliment to a good burger.

Obviously, there are plenty of other restaurants that serve a good burger and we are going to try and make our way through Buffalo and find more that are worth being listed here.  We also tried to stick to locally owned restaurants, however Fuddruckers does make a pretty damn good burger and if Buffalo ever gets that Five Guys I will gladly be one of their regulars.  Here are some other local restaurants that got some praise from our readers and others:
