About Me: I started this website to keep track of all of the restaurants Alli and I had been trying. We started seeing the traffic increase on our site and decided to keep it going, occasionally adding new features and new writers. I’m still a recent foodie, before I started Buffalo Eats I wouldn’t order anything but chicken sandwiches and my favorite restaurant probably would have been TGI Fridays. But I’ve been trying to eat as much as possible and experience all different types of cuisine any chance I get. I’m not a trained writer, but I will do my best to educate myself on writing and food in general. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy!

Don,
I was a bit surprised to stumble across your website and find a youtube video entry posted by my son Douglas McCausland. He is as you may well imagine, a quite a thoughtful and opinionated twelve-year-old boy. By all means, you may with my blessing post the video, I just wanted to let you know that I saw it. My son was of course, beaming with pride and some shock to see the link and your kind write-up.
Sincerely,
Bruce McCausland
Hah, Hoegaarden. Delicious and amazing, yes. Just don’t pronounce it properly, or bartenders will stare at you funny.
Came across your website today as I am constantly craving Buffalo foods. Reading your blogs have made me terribly hungry! I was thinking we share a common interest and am planning on putting a link to your site on mine, if that’s okay. My sister and I recently started a business in NC, selling foods from home. We are a new business here in Charlotte. The Buffalo transplants are eager to find foods from home. We are adding products as quickly as we can and take many special requests. Maybe we could be linked to your site as well! http://www.buffalocravings.com
Hi there! As a fellow Buffalonian who has been transplanted to NYC 10 years now I just wanted to say your site is a breath of fresh air. I thought I was the only one who sang the praises of Buffalo food! Nice blog and good content. Let me know if you ever make it into the NYC area. I have a food blog as well nyctastes.blogspot.com
I try to do Buffalo posts whenever I go home.
I could give you some tips on food to eat if you come to NYC. Btw I’m visiting home this weekend. Any word yet on the new Blue Monk bar? thinking about trying it out.
Hi Don –
In accordance with the dictum that it’s better to ask forgiveness than permission, I used a photo that I googled from your website in the following post: http://hamburg.wgrz.com/content/mckinley-mall-open-til-11-pm-black-friday
If that’s a problem please let me know and I will take it down immediately. (I was scrambling to get that correction posted.)
It was a delightful surprise to come across your website, which I hadn’t seen before, and I’m wondering if you would be interested in posting items from BuffaloEats to the WGRZ community websites? If you just want to do a “teaser” story with a link to the original, I’m down with that.
If you’re interested, drop me a line or give me a call.

Hi Don,
A group of friends and I are going to the Sabres vs. Habs game on the 21st and traveling from Rochester. We’re looking for a good restaurant for pre-game food with good wings. Right now, we’re thinking about Gabriel’s Gate, but was wondering if you had any other relatively inexpensive suggestions.
Thanks,
Ryan
Hey Ryan,
Gabriel’s Gate is a safe bet, a lot of people love their wings. Personally my favorite in the city is Nine Eleven Tavern. It’s about 10 minutes south of the arena and it’s cash only but they are really unique but great tasting wings.

Otherwise Swannie House is walking distance from the arena and I think also cash only, but it’s in a really old location and they have good wings, fries.

Hope that helps, enjoy the game and feel free to ask anything else.
Thanks for the help, Don!
